RWA Chapter 117
Lowcountry Romance Writers of America
P.O. Box 718

Who We Are:
LRWA is a national, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote excellence in romantic fiction, to help writers become published and establish careers in their writing field, and to provide continuing support for writers within the romance publishing industry..
Discover all you can gain by joining LRWA today, including writing fellowship with some of the most dynamic authors you could ever hope to meet.
A chapter of Romance Writers of America®, LRWA® was formed in March 1993. The members all have one thing in common—an interest in the writing, reading, marketing, and success of all forms of fiction for women readers. We welcome writers of all genres to join us, whether you write romance, mystery, urban fantasy, or any of the other myriad genres being published today with women in mind.
Don’t let the impeccable manners fool you – truly passionate hearts beat beneath the cobblestoned streets of Charleston, a city that has withstood wars, hurricanes, plague, and earthquake with grace, fortitude, and its own special brand of Southern charm.
Where better to find history, romance, mystery, and stories of the struggles between men, women, and their ideals? Buoyed by the fresh salt air, inspired by the city’s magnificent gardens and homes, and emboldened by the fierce pride Charlestonians feel about both their history and their future, the published and aspiring romance writer can find no better place to indulge her imagination than the magical realm of the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
All LRWA meetings are held on the fourth Saturday of each month at Coosaw Creek Country Club — (online via Zoom during COVID)—, Ashley Room unless otherwise stated. All programs, unless otherwise stated begin at 1:00 pm. All interested and aspiring writers are welcome and encouraged to attend! Non-members are welcome to attend two meetings free before deciding to join Lowcountry RWA.
